Our South Africa medical elective placement is aimed at medical students and people that are wanting to study medicine. You will be placed at one of the local hospitals or clinics in the area, learning from qualified doctors and nurses whilst gaining practical experience. There are strong academic and practical components to this project so that you get the most out of your placement whilst enjoying all that the area has to offer.

TEACHING AND CHILD CARE Zavora, Mozambique

Our Mozambique community project is ideal for those wanting to get involved in and make a difference to the poverty stricken community of Xisondwe, Zavora. You will have the chance to teach and care for young children, classes include English, Maths and basic health education. You will also be involved with house to house research about malaria and other health issues together with vegetable gardening and basic maintenance of the school buildings.

SPORTS EDUCATION PROJECT Zavora, Mozambique

Our sports project in Mozambique aims to tackle the problem of lack of sports education in local schools in Mozambique. If you are interested in teaching sports like football and cricket to children that have never had the opportunity to do so, then this is the perfect project for you. You will be responsible for organising teams, setting up matches and obvouisly teaching the rules of the games, while instilling qualities like team spirit and leadership.

COMMUNITY CARE PROJECT St Lucia, South Africa

Volunteering in South Africa can be a real eye opener. You will have first hand experience of what life is like in an area where children are orphaned because of poverty and HIV and AIDS. This is your chance to truly make a difference, to the many children in the area. Help with organising fun, games and preparing food for the children, visit local homesteads to help out with daily chores and provide basic health education for both adults and children.

WILDLIFE VOLUNTEER PROJECT St Lucia, South Africa

Volunteering in South Africa on our wildlife volunteer project highlights the dificulties nature conservation faces today. Your main task will be looking after crocodiles in a crocodile sanctuary which will involve cleaning the pens, feeding and help with hatching of eggs. Together with this you will also be required to conduct research on a number of pressing environmental issues which includes gathering data from the field and animal observation.
